Lapta Hiking Trail

Lapta Hiking Trail is a challenging trail with a total distance of 10.73 km and altitudes between 272 meters and 806 meters. The route starts near the old Başpınar fountain in Lapta.

Within the scope of the project carried out in 2021, the water channel that reaches the waterfall at the beginning of the walking track was cleaned, an iron grate was built on the channel, a stonewall made of yellow stone specific to Cyprus was built along the path in necessary areas, an iron guardrail was built on the rocky ground for viewing purposes, a drip irrigation system was established for endemic plants and a water tank was installed. Plants that grow only in that region such as the ‘Medoş tulip’, which is a tulip species unique to Cyprus and whose festival is held every year, as well as plants such as the sunflower, rabbit's ear, St. Hilarion cabbage, spruce, tulümbe, lavender, Lapta flower were planted in the areas along the hiking trail and introductory signboards were placed also.
