In 1974, 126 Turkish civilians were martyred by EOKA in the villages of Muratağa, Atlılar, and Sandallar, and 29 of the martyrs were students of the Muratağa Atlılar and Sandallar villages Primary School. Today, this school is used as a martyrs' museum in the name of the martyred students and civilians, and the memories of the martyrs are kept alive here. The building used as a museum is a school building consisting of a single storey and a classroom located in a large garden with trees. The classroom inside the school has been preserved in its original form and there are information boards in the garden telling about the tragic event. At the end of the walking path on the left side of the school building, there is a small cave where a mother and her two children hid and survived during the events.
Within the scope of the project carried out in 2024, the roof of the school building was removed, water and heat insulation was made, and broken tiles were repaired. Rainwater gutters and downpipes were renewed. The exterior plaster was renewed and painting was done. Doors, windows and shutters were repaired and painted. The entrance arch was renewed, information boards explaining the tragic event were renewed and moved to their new locations. Landscaping was done in the school garden, interlocking stone flooring and concrete borders were made.
